Moved our exchange 2003 mail stores to a new storage device connected via iSCSI ........ exchange seemed to be working fine until i setup a second NIC and redirected all iSCSI i/o traffic over this NIC which is VLANed in its own subnet.. im having issues with two routing group SMTP connectors where email is getting stuck in the queue, where have to force a connection, and ufreeze message peroiodcally... I just want to make sure i have iSCSI setup correcly.. is there any documents available ?Thank youRob Davis

on the second NIC, which i am using for iSCSI i have it set on an VLAN. couple questions i have, 1.this second nic, i have the gateway address set to point to the VLAN... (should i even have a gateway address set on the vlan? nic)2 in Contol Panel, Network Connections, highlight iSCSI nic, then pick Advanded on the toolbar then choose Advanced settings, then a dialog box comes labeled Adapters and Bindings on one tab, and Provider Order on 2nd tab... under the Adapter and Bindings tab, their displays 2 windows Connections is top , lower window is Connections for iSCSIin the top window, iSCSI is higlighted, and then display the bindings to iSCSI in the lower window i unchecked File and Print sharing..... but what about Client for Microsoft Networks, should i uncheck this?.... or will this disable ip in the iSCSI card3. their is another Connection in the top window that is my domain , when i highlight this, the lower window displays Microsoft File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks, which i have Unchecked.. Their is also Client for Micorosoft Networks,..... should i uncheck this too?hope i dont sound too confusing.. or to long windedthanksRob Davis

i just realized the second connection is the first network card.. so i left it alone i turned file and print sharing back on....Rob Davis

our WAN guys figured it out....... as i posted at the beginning, since i setup the nic for iSCSI, i wasnt supposed to put in a Default gateway on this nic..... after removing the gateway address of the VLAN, the queues opened up.... the WAN guys tipped me off when the noticed all traffic going out the iSCSI nic, and nothing going out the NIC that is in the Data network.... so atleast i managed to get this working, now i need to figure out exactly what traffic is going out which interface... they recommended wireshark...
